Maison La Roche
(1923–1925)
Designed by Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret between 1923 and 1925, Maison La Roche is a landmark of modern architecture and one of the most emblematic works from the architects' purist period. Built for the Swiss collector Raoul La Roche, the house reflects Le Corbusier’s pursuit of a fluid and integrated architectural experience. Located in Paris’s 16th arrondissement, the residence now houses the archives of the Fondation Le Corbusier and is considered one of the most significant spaces in the evolution of early 20th-century modernist language.
For the first time in history, a Brazilian exhibition takes place at Maison La Roche, proposing an unprecedented encounter between Brazil and the architectural and aesthetic legacy of Le Corbusier. Commissioned by ABERTO, many of the works were created specifically for the spaces of the house, engaging directly with its original color palette, precise proportions, and the spatial circulation envisioned by the architect.
